Fall Fest 2021 had undergone a new set of parameters, as well as faced the cancellation of events due to COVID-19.
However, a few events and activities do remain!
This year's events include Trick-or-Treat (for all ages), Zombie Hunt, and a business/residential Scarecrow Contest.
Each year, businesses open their doors to welcome young trick-or-treaters during business hours. On October 30, from 2-4:30 p.m., trick-or-treaters of all ages are welcome to collect goodies from participating businesses.
This year, the treats will be handed to trick-or-treaters instead of them being able to select their own goodies. Business owners have been asked to distribute treats from an upon entryway, or outdoors (weather permitting). Please look for a sign in the windows of businesses to confirm they are participating.
A digital map of all participating businesses will be posted here, and on Facebook, the week of the event.
Business/Residential Scarecrow Contest
Fall Fest will also mark the return of the Scarecrow Contest! We are opening the competition to residences this year as well, and we will have voting for both business and residential entries.
Scarecrow Contest entries are due by October 25. Voting will occur online on the Ritzville Chamber's Facebook page from October 27 - November 3. Entries can be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org.
A family-friendly addition to our Fall Fest activities will be a Zombie Hunt. This zombie-themed scavenger hunt will be throughout town. Businesses are displaying paper zombies in the window of their businesses, and each zombie is numbered. Zombie hunters will need to record where they find each zombie, and the person who finds the most will receive a prize! The Zombie Hunt will run from October 25-29.
